Health Kits for Disaster Relief

The United Methodist Commission on Relief (UMCOR) has been providing relief aid and  provided health kits to those in the affected areas, but more health kits are being requested, as all available health kits have been shipped overseas.

If you would like to help in this effort, please follow the guidelines below in making a health kit. This is a project that can be done by an individual, a Sunday school class, a K-Group, or a Bible study group.

Health kits needed

To make a health kit, you will need:

            1 hand towel (15" x 25" up to 17" x 27")

            1 washcloth

1 comb (large and sturdy, not pocket-sized)

1 nail file or fingernail clippers (no emery boards or

                 toenail clippers)

1 bath-size bar of soap (3 oz. and up)

1 toothbrush (single brushes only in original wrapper)

1 large tube of toothpaste (expiration date must be at

                 least six months out)

6 adhesive plastic strip sterile bandages

Place these items in a sealed one-gallon sized plastic bag.
